I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. My daddy, Mr. Hoppy, taught me how to cook. Sometimes during late evenings, with only the illumination from the streetlights, Dad would lite up the grill, the aroma would penetrate the neighborhood. In the kitchen, my mother Mrs Cleo Hopkins, would be putting the finishing touches on the fried catfish, collard greens and sweet potato pie. Family and friends would soon stroll over and fill the backyard. Oh, and of course, an evening such as this would not be complete without the sounds of smooth R&B playing in the background.
